Most organisations want to be inclusive — but day-to-day reality can look very different.
Managers and colleagues often lack the confidence and practical guidance to support neurodivergent people at work. As a result, challenges are addressed late, inconsistently, or only once they escalate into formal processes.
The Neurodiversity Champions Programme helps organisations close this gap by building internal capability, confidence and consistency — through trained, certified workplace advocates who provide early, informed support within clear professional boundaries.
The Neurodiversity Champions Programme is delivered by The Neurodiversity Partnership — a collaboration between The Thrive Team and The Neurodiversity Academy.
The programme is designed for organisations and their people, equipping internal Champions with:

What do Neurodiversity Champions do in the workplace?
Neurodiversity Champions provide early peer support, facilitate safe and informed conversations, signpost colleagues to appropriate resources and adjustments, support managers, and help embed inclusive practice across teams — without acting as clinicians, coaches or HR case managers.
Do Neurodiversity Champions need to be neurodivergent themselves?
No. Champions can be neurodivergent or neurotypical. The programme is designed to train trusted employees with the knowledge, confidence and tools to support neuro-inclusive practice, regardless of personal disclosure or diagnosis.
How is this different from neurodiversity awareness training?
Awareness training builds understanding. The Neurodiversity Champions Programme builds practical capability by equipping Champions to apply learning in real workplace situations, supporting earlier intervention and reducing the risk of escalation into formal processes.
How do Neurodiversity Champions work alongside HR and managers?
Neurodiversity Champions do not replace HR or line management. They provide an early, human layer of support that helps employees and managers navigate conversations, understand options, and access appropriate organisational processes sooner.
