Unwrapping Wellbeing: 12 Tips for Thriving

Unwrapping Wellbeing: 12 Tips for Thriving

Over the recent festive period, we shared some bite-sized tips for wellbeing through our “Unwrapping Wellbeing: 12 Days of Tips for Thriving” social media series. As the new year really gets into gear, we wanted to compile all 12 tips into one helpful guide to help you to continue to prioritise your wellbeing and thriving into 2024.

Originally shared daily from 25th December to 5th January, these tips aim to support different key areas of wellbeing – mental, emotional, physical, and professional. Building small, sustainable habits can anchor your overall wellbeing regardless of the season. For more details on each tip, click on the title to visit the original post.

Tip 1: Choose Presence Over Presents

The shine of new gifts fades but being fully present can create lifelong memories. Set devices aside, soak up your surroundings and embrace playfulness. Authentic presence combats stress and is the gift that keeps giving.

Tip 2: Set Healthy Boundaries & Prioritise Self-Care

Replenish yourself before pouring back into responsibilities. Try new stress-relieving activities, and don’t feel guilty about saying “no.” Make self-care routine, not just reactive. Remember: self-care is not selfish.

Tip 3: Practice Gratitude

Shift your focus from what you lack to the abundance already present. Keep a daily gratitude journal. Writing what you’re thankful for activates positive emotions, improves sleep, self-esteem and connections.

Tip 4: Give Generously

Giving time, words, skills or resources lifts us up by releasing endorphins. Match your generosity to your passions for maximum impact. Micro-giving opportunities are everywhere!

Tip 5: Create Healthy Lifestyle Habits

Anchor your wellbeing with small daily actions – hydration, nutrition, activity, and balance. Don’t let holiday indulgences derail your routine. Feel nourished in body, mind and spirit.

Tip 6: Manage Stress

Release pressures early and often. Have healthy coping tools on hand before feeling overwhelmed. Know your signs of excess stress. Use our Stress Container Tool to give you insight.

Tip 7: Cultivate a Growth Mindset

View obstacles as opportunities to learn rather than as failures. Reframe setbacks positively. Comparison discourages growth so focus on self-improvement. Approach challenges with patience and possibility thinking.

Tip 8: Visualise Success

Regularly picture your goals achieved – absorb the details with your mind’s eye! Envisioning the finish creates motivation for daily progress. Vivid success visualisation builds confidence and determination.

Tip 9: Create Healthy Work/Life Boundaries

Protect your precious personal time by setting your communication availability, planning and taking your annual leave, and disengaging after work hours. As a leader, prevent team burnout by role modelling balance.

Tip 10: Learn Continuously

Continuous learning keeps our minds sharp and engaged. Nourish your brain and you will feel the benefits across many areas of wellbeing. Try investing 30 minutes a day into self-improvement. Small daily knowledge gains will compound over time.

Tip 11: Maximise Your Strengths

Seek out opportunities for your talents to shine. Align your strengths to your passions for greater fulfilment and purpose. Regularly use your natural superpowers, as this will help to build resilience.

Tip 12: Check In On Your Wellbeing…Regularly

Use our free downloadable Wellbeing Check-In tool to assess lifestyle factors, stress signals, thought patterns. Make adjustments proactively and routinely.

We hope this compilation of our 12 tips helps you prioritise your wellbeing not just during the busy seasons but all year long. Revisit this guide whenever you need a refresh.
