Vanessa Reed

Client Relationship Manager & Coach

Vanessa brings over 35 years of diverse experience in recruitment, executive search, business development, leadership, training, coaching, and mediation. Her passion is in fostering authentic relationships and people development. Joining The Thrive Team provides a business model that perfectly aligns with her core beliefs, personal values, skills, and experience.

Beginning her career in newspaper advertising sales, Vanessa quickly advanced into senior management before transitioning into Management Training. This in turn sparked a passion in her for talent acquisition, leading into executive search, and eventually running a successful recruitment agency for over nine years.

After furthering her qualifications as a Mediator specialising in workplace mediation and qualifying as an Associate Coach, Vanessa has partnered with businesses to maximise their employee’s happiness and success. From an early age, Vanessa has found joy in understanding people—their differences, motivations, and triggers and has defined success by helping others realise their full potential.

We asked Vanessa to tell her a little more about herself:

What is your career highlight?

Returning from maternity leave, I was fortunate to have an inspirational leader who invited me to create a new role that aligned with my values and experience. With his support, I completed my studies whilst delivering leadership and coaching for the group. Shaping the role myself, enhanced my determination to succeed.

I ‘thrive’ when …..

Living on the south coast feeds my soul! Along with, spending time with friends and family, Pilates and yoga, photography and being part of a thriving community.

My favourite band is….

I have an eclectic taste in music, with legends like, The Eagles, Tina Turner, Van Morrison, Abba, Soul and R & B. Do I appear younger if I include Coldplay?

The Waterboys, ‘Whole of the Moon’ – my go-to Karaoke song – maybe a secret not to be shared!

What book would you recommend?

I belong to a local book club (some may describe it as ‘wine club’).  ‘The Nightingale’ by Kristin Hannah is beautifully written and difficult to put down. On a professional/personal development focus, I recommend, ‘Think like a Monk’ by Jay Shetty. Insightful, thought provoking and captures your interest from the start.
