Amy has more than 16 years of experience working as an event manager, predominantly organising conferences and workshops for mental health associations. Whilst mostly based in the UK, some projects have taken her further afield and she has been involved in organising several successful European events, as well as worldwide incentive trips; St Lucia being unforgettable. Amy brings her organisational and time management skills to The Thrive Team and enjoys communicating and interacting with people from all walks of life.
Amy’s early background was spent simultaneously working for an air ambulance assistance company and taking time out to travel the world. She is an effective multitasker and enjoys the variety that each day brings, no two days are ever the same.
Always keen to set new challenges for herself both personally and professionally, Amy is enjoying the diversity that her role as PA to the Directors at The Thrive Team brings.
We’ve asked Amy a few questions to find out a little more about her.
What is your career highlight?
Pitching for a European contract, to a board whose President had already decided that the business would go elsewhere. With nothing to lose and a lot of passion for the event, the day exceeded all expectations. The final result was that we won the bid! It was a terrifying task that turned into a very rewarding personal achievement.
When you are not “thriving” you are…
I really enjoy long beach walks with my dog, seeing live performances (both music and plays) and spending time with my family.
My favourite band is…
A tough question… at home there is a lot of Paul Weller and Courteeners. I saw Robbie Williams in Australia which was amazing and Stevie Wonder in Hyde Park is up there too. I really enjoyed taking my children to their first concert to see Harry Styles!
What book would you recommend?
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.
I thrive when…
I get the balance just right (or there abouts) between enjoying quality time with my family, watching live performance of music and theatre and losing track of time walking my 4-legged shadow.
