SEARCH & SELECTION BASED ON A THOROUGH & PROVEN 10-STEP PROCESS
1. CLIENT BRIEF
Stage 1: Client brief & assignment set up
The Thrive Team takes an in depth brief from stakeholders and agrees a full job and person specification for the role. Next, we write a candidate briefing pack to show a full understanding of the role and, equally important, the culture of your organisation.
2. TARGET LIST
Stage 2: Company & Candidate Target List
Conducting research via phone, online, trade associations and our own extensive network, The Thrive Team puts together a list of target companies where we believe the best candidates will be found. From this, we build a long list of potential candidates, for client review before we move on to the next stage.
3. INITIAL APPROACH
Stage 3: Initial Candidate Approach & Qualification
We approach each targeted candidate to establish their basic suitability, interest and motivations and – once mutual interest has been established – request their CV for further evaluation.
A group of candidates are taken through a second stage of telephone interviews, where we explain more about the position and opportunity. This discussion extends into a rigorous interview, designed to assess their skills, experience, characteristics and key achievements. We then present a long list for face to face interview.
4. FACE TO FACE
Stage 4: Face to face interviews & reference checking
The Thrive Team travels to meet the candidates. The interview, which lasts up to two hours, covers an extensive discussion around the opportunity, an end-to-end review of their experience, skills, relevant achievements and personal characteristics. Their career goals, personal goals and motivators for leaving their current employer are also discussed, as is coaching – and the use of one of our coaches – if the candidate is successful. Reference checking with previous colleagues and superiors is conducted and any agreed psychometric assessment is taken post-interview too.
Stage 5: Shortlist Production
Once all candidates have been interviewed and references taken, a shortlist of four to five will be drawn up. We then compile the candidate profile, which is written up and attached to the CV.
Stage 6: Shortlist Review Meeting
Here we sit down with the relevant stakeholders to review profiles, CVs, references and the results of psychometric assessment. Next, the interview timetable and agenda for each meeting is agreed.
Stage 7: Interview Process & Co-ordination
All interviews are co-ordinated by The Thrive Team, with candidates and stakeholders receiving a thorough briefing and debriefing prior to and following interview. Once all interviews have taken place, we deliver feedback to each candidate.
8. OFFER & RESIGNATION
Stage 8: Offer & Resignation
The Thrive Team facilitates the making and negotiation of offers to acceptance and arrangement of the start date. To ensure there are no surprises, we clarify all terms and conditions with the candidate prior to the offer being made; mediating negotiations regarding salary terms, relocation, benefits package and start date. We also counsel candidates during the process of resigning from their present position and deal with counter offers.
9. NOTICE PERIOD
Stage 9: Notice Period
We stay in touch with candidates throughout their notice period, which can be a difficult time for them. Support and advice is provided via regular phone calls and meetings.
Stage 10: Coaching & Development
We offer all placed candidates a strong development programme, with coaching and self-care at its core. No matter how senior the candidate, the initial few months are always unsettling. The coaches help new recruits to settle into their new role and environment, ensuring that they add value straight away and are able to hit the ground running. We believe this is the key to optimising the employee’s performance and wellness in the workplace. Mental health awareness training is also offered, which is fast-becoming essential for managerial and leadership roles – as well as being useful from a personal perspective, to assist good mental health.
